A line of handcrafted bags and décor items, for the practical, stylish woman, sold online and in hip, high-end shops around Los Angeles, created by photographer/designer Raquel Olivo.
Olivo’s logo needed to serve three purposes: recognizable as an emblem- on product items, by name alone- on tags, and used together as a cohesive brand signifier. The emblem marries an inverted triangle- a symbol for femininity, with a bird icon, which holds personal meaning for the designer- her favorite animal and a representation of freedom and creativity. Both emblem and name use thin, clean, elegant lines, reflecting the spirit of the brand's hip, classic and unfussy aesthetic.
Olivo’s, 2017 look book forges a new path for its branding. The approach to branding for Olivo was minimal, upscale, and practical - like its products. Black and White, the core colors of the brand, form a crisp, bare canvas. Type is minimal and clear, besides headings which are called out in large text, allowing the photography to be hero.
Similarly the integration of graphics for Olivo's shop website continues with the brand theme. Minimal, clear type and ample white space allow for easy navigation and let the product be star.
